Tacit Knowledge Management and Pair Programming

Tacit knowledge is important asset for organizations. To thrive in today's economy, organizations need to find efficient ways to create and disseminate the tacit knowledge that exists in the knowledge workers. Pair programming, with which two programmers work side by side at the same computer, continuously collaborating on the same software artifact, holds the promise to break the social barriers and create an atmosphere of adherence. In this paper, I propose pair programming as an efficient, economical way to manage tacit knowledge.
